The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMCA) is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining diversity initiatives, employment practices, policy, programs, procedures, or guidelines to meet the diversity needs of the agency, staff, members, families, friends, family, gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural preferences, age, social economic status, religion, language, etc. Over time, the OMCIA has grown to encompass work that helps the organization eliminate racial and ethnic distinctions.

As the Multicultural Affairs Program Manager, what is your job description?
The duties and responsibilities will overlap, but they are not restricted to.
  • The management, organization, and supervision of programs and projects that aim to promote racial justice, anti-racism practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion, or both. These roles include:
  • Contributing to the creation and dissemination of policy. Hence,
  • Providing guidance and implementing relevant laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, in relation to providing services to children and families with disabilities.'

Can you provide information on the minimum qualifications needed, including general experience?

A total of nine (9) years of work experience.

Can I only specify my experience without qualifications? What are the prerequisites for this to happen?

In the field of specialization, one (1) year of general experience is required. (C)

Applicants must satisfy one of the following criteria: 1.

  • In lieu of the General Experience, a Bachelor's degree can be obtained by substituting fifteen (15) semester hours that amount to one-half (1/2), but not more than four (4) years of experience.
  • It is possible to take an extra year off of the General Experience and substitute for a master's degree in business administration, public administration or corresponding fields. However, it must not be more than one year long.
  • An Apprenticeship and Training Program Manager with two years of experience can take the place of a general employee and special employee, as per the Department of Labor's guidelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in managing and supervising staff.'
  • Experience in project management and data analysis.
  • Experience in identifying organizational issues and developing effective strategies.
  • Has worked on developing and implementing strategies or practices that address anti-racism, cultural difference, intersectionality, etc.?
  • Knowledge of completing investigations and finding solutions to problems.
