Job Overview
The EPA, BOW, Water Pollution Control, Compliance Section, and Environmental Protection Specialist II positions are responsible for the initial professional duties associated with monitoring, participating in, or carrying out compliance or enforcement actions under Section 31 of the Illinois Environmental Protection Law.

Job Responsibilities
Assist in observing, assessing and managing the Compliance Section of the Division of Water Pollution Control within the Bureau of Water, as well as monitoring compliance and enforcement measures under Section 31 of the Illinois Environmental Protection Law; 30. Additionally, employees are required to observe, support and manage the compliance section of the Water Division of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Participates in the operation and maintenance of relevant state and federal compliance and enforcement databases, including:
- The list of options includes VN Tracking, ICIS, ECHO (End User Credentials Portal), ATHENA, NDN, and more.
- Track compliance/enforcement and target violations.'
- Integrates essential information, such as permit schedules and reports, single event violations, enforcement actions and links to them, permit tracking events, general permit renewal information (including the uploading of CCA's to the IEPA website). "
- Conducts routine investigations, generates reports to identify non-compliance and suggest the most appropriate solution for the noncompliance situation.
- Provide outreach, training and support services for electronic reporting tools such as NetDMR and Net, among others.

- Manages tasks, extending aid, answering queries, and verifying compliance with established standards.'
- Instructs divisional staff and research into Agency files to aid in the investigation of compliance with regulations, evidence collection efforts, and summarizing past violations as well as enforcement actions.
- Keeps records of complaints, ensures that they are amended to contain more violations, scrutinizes the accuracy and confidentiality of reports submitted to the authorities, and provides testimony at hearings.
- Interpret and clarify routine state and federal laws, respond to prompt questions on issues related to NPDDS, and provide guidance to facility operators, city officials, industry representatives, engineers, legal experts, and private individuals. Minimum Qualifications
Must possess the same level of knowledge, talent, and intelligence as four years of college with coursework in physical, life, or environmental sciences and must:
