The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) is responsible for managing the state's water resources.is the state of Minnesota’s soil and water conservation agency. BWSR works with partners to prevent sediment and nutrients from entering our lakes, rivers, and streams; enhance fish and wildlife habitat; improve soil health and protect wetlands. The 20-member board consists of representatives of local and state government agencies and citizens.

Job Summary


This job requires both accounting and administrative support, including specialized knowledge of financial records and coding. It is essential to remain an integral part of the state's accounting system and manage meetings, mail processing, answering calls, and receptionist duties. Additionally, this position provides administrative assistant positions for various functions such as payroll or payroll.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completing forms and documents that meet GAAP requirements while maintaining accurate and complete financial records requires an expert in fundamental accounting techniques.

  • 'Enough math aptitude to compute, analyse, and reconcile financial information and safeguard account balances.'

  • A skill in problem solving entails the ability to identifiy, find solutions, and communicate the complexity of the issue. This is necessary.

  • To provide personalized information, alternative choices, and solutions promptly, one must possess outstanding customer service skills that can be sourced through phone calls, emails, written materials, or other means.

  • Capacities to compose, prepare, and revise written materials (such as memos, procedures, reports, presentations) and convey intricate concepts or rules by means of lucid explanation, discussion, communication, presentation, editing, etc. - i.e.

  • Having proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access or similar software applications is necessary to efficiently and quickly prepare documents such as emails, memos, reports/presentations, spreadsheets/tabs/7/7, tables, graphs... etc. (and more).

Physical Requirements
