Class Definition
Responsible for the overall administration of the various Clerks’ Offices and supervision of all staff. The Deputy Administrator supervises all activities within established guidelines and directives to ensure proper performance of courtroom and office clerks’ activities; also responsible for issuance of summons, citations, writs and warrants and/or cancellation of warrants; maintains proficiency in accordance with Family Court Rules; processes motions; transmits case records; reviews standard Court forms; prepares routine and technical correspondence; maintains proficiency based on updated and current practices and procedures; assists the general public and the legal community concerning all inquiries and requests for information; protects confidentiality cases and does related work as required; prepares and processes all related documents as well as Court filings in a high-volume, time-impacted work setting; assigns daily coverage of clerks in courtrooms; supervises and regulates daily calendars and number of cases; maintains any Registry Accounts, including deposits, withdrawals and distribution; responsible for and in charge of expediting appeals; responsible for proper order, approval, signature and entry of all Orders or Decrees. When necessary, shall assist in Courtrooms, administer oaths, receive, enter and store all exhibits introduced as evidence; maintains required records of proceedings; prepares daily court calendars; receives and processes documents filed with the Court; functions as a liaison for Family Court litigants, attorneys and Court staff; and performs any and all other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Judge and/or Family Court Chief of Staff.
Position could be assigned to any of the four counties.
Required Qualifications for Appointment
Graduation from an accredited high school, including or supplemented by courses in data processing; experience such as may have been gained through employment requiring the performance of general office duties. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree, experience which may have been gained through employment in a responsible position working within Family Court offices and outside agencies to schedule and update cases; or a combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to the above requirements
