ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!
The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services, is recruiting for two Employment Services Technician 3s located in Anchorage!

These positions are in the Supervisory Unit (SS) at a range 16.


What you will be doing
:
The Employment Services Technician 3 (EST 3) provides direct oversight of the Apprenticeship Services Unit and Business Connection as well as supervision of staff located in the Anchorage Midtown Job Center. The EST 3 plans, coordinates, and evaluates the delivery of Apprenticeship services and Resource Room within One-Stop Centers and partner communities. They recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and provide progressive discipline to assigned regional staff. The incumbent of this position is critical to successfully implementing the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), State Training and Employment Program (STEP), and Apprenticeship Grants.

This customer service-driven position involves extensive contact to explain and elicit information regarding procedures, services, and/or requirements for solutions and services provided through the Job Center Network.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience as an Employment Services Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere.

OR

Two years of experience as an Employment Services Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere.

OR

Three years of experience such as providing employment services; coordinating training services; conducting skills assessments; making referrals to community support services; assisting individuals apply for federal/state financial assistance or benefits; providing services to the public; explaining policies, procedures, services, or requirements to the public; resolving customer complaints or problems; calculating costs, refunds, taxes, or benefits; providing written explanations, summaries, reports, or correspondence; or locating and inputting information into data systems such as reservation, ticketing, or application systems.
