Job Summary
The Division of Performing Arts at Minot State University (https://www.minotstateu.edu/music/) invites applicants for the position of Adjunct Percussion Instructor, beginning August 2023. This position requires expertise in traditional/classical percussion, marching percussion/drumline, and drum set. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach private percussion lesson to music majors, music minors, and students pursuing a concentration in music
- Assist with the MSU Marching Band Drumline during football season
- Lead the MSU Percussion Ensemble
- Teach a Percussion Methords course tomusic educations majors
- Effectively recruit, sustain, and build a percussion studio
- Oversee and mantain the MSU percussion instrument inventory
In addition to teaching percussion, there may be additional employment opportunities associated with the MSU Division of Performing Arts depending on availability, interest, and the strengths of the candidate hired.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Music Performance or Music Education (primary instrument percussion)
- Evidence of excellence in applied instruction and performance
- Ability to teach and perform various musical styles/genres
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in Music Performance or Music Education (primary instrument percussion)
- Middle School and/or High School Instrumental Music teaching Experience
- Previous College Teaching Experience
