DSS Community Outreach is dedicated to expanding access to information and resources about HRA and DHS programs in the community by bringing services directly into the community and by partnering with and serving as a resource to community-based provider organizations serving HRA and DHS clients and applicants. Community Partnerships establishes and manages partnerships with community-based organizations, advocates, and others engaged in benefits enrollment and case management for DSS clients and applicants. Community Partnerships operates the Community Partners Resource Center, which is a centralized resource established under the Mayor’s NYC Benefits initiative for CBOs to seek support for their clients and learn skills and strategies for navigating the application and recertification processes.
The Office of Community Outreach is two (2) Job Opportunity Specialists to function as Case Resolutions Specialists.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Community Partnerships, with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and decision-making, the Case Resolution Supervisor provides management and supervision to a team of Case Resolution Specialists and reviews recommended corrective case actions and eligibility determinations for accuracy and completeness. The Supervisor liaises with the Family Independence Administration (FIA) to monitor accuracy and completeness of all case actions taken by the Case Resolution Specialists.

Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of full–time satisfactory experience working directly with or for a job opportunity program, providing employment planning/counseling services involving job development, skill assessment and employment placement; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience that is equivalent to (1) or (2) above. College credit from an accredited college may be submitted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits for one year of work experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
