The salary range for the role is $115,494.00 - $173,241.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

The Associate Director is a licensed clinician, responsible for overseeing staff, operations and resources within a department or division to ensure optimal result and high employee engagement. Aligns with the strategic vision, goals and objectives of the health system related to hospital patient safety initiatives including but not limited to the patient safety rounding program (Patient Safety Wednesday) and Great Catch recognition programs. Advances a patient safety program that promotes a culture of safety and the elimination of avoidable harm and leads the Patient Safety Rounds and Great Catch programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees operations within assigned program; uses data and fact-based problem solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensures that all operations run according to institutional and departmental policies and in accordance with any government or regulatory requirements as applicable.
  • Orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicates values, strategies, and objectives of department or division on a regular basis.
  • Develops, maintains and reconciles program budget with financial responsibility and oversight for department or division.
  • Plans, develops, and/or maintains program standard operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes, or recommends changes to superiors as necessary.
  • Assists in the planning and logistical arrangements for forums, conferences, seminars, and meetings.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of supplies/materials for participants. Tracks supplies/materials/orders to process requisitions as needed.
  • Assists with timely and accurate processing of related purchase orders, estimates, invoices, credits, payments, and reimbursements
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Provide leadership for staff members in the form of ongoing training, performance feedback, goal setting, and problem resolution; cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity in service of better patient care.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and marketing of programs to leadership, management and frontline staff.
  • Collaborates with appropriate individuals to develop connections to various available organization physicians, facilities, resources, support programs and services to foster a multi-disciplinary approach to patient safety

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a clinical area, public health/administration or business or a related field or equivalent education and experience; Masters (MPA, MPH, MBA or related) is preferred.

Experience Requirements

7+ years of experience (higher preferred) in a professional business environment, with health related, project management and supervisory experience preferred.

Licensing and Certification Requirements

Current NYS Nursing, NP, P.A. or other relevant clinical licensure required
