Why does the job exist?
This position is to act as Interstate Compact Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS) Commissioner for the State of New Mexico and provide management for the Interstate compact Unit. This position shall provide oversight over the daily activities regarding the movement and caseload of approximately 1900 New Mexico and out of state probationers and parolee.
How does it get done?
This position will provide assurance that transfers and case management are in compliance with the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision Rules, Advisory Opinions and Dispute Resolutions. This position will provide for the management of parole warrants, assist with governors warrants, extradition, retaking process, the process for parolees to detainers and New Mexico parolees paroling out of state. The incumbent will represent New Mexico at the National Interstate Compact meetings.

Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management, supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements
This position is designed safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of Federal and State law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Pre-employment background check is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
