Purpose of Job: Safely and efficiently performs a variety of duties within PBV’s warehouse operations to support both internal and external customers and meet business goals and demands. Duties will include pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, performing quality control checks, dumping, rework, replenishing, and otherwise handling of PBV products, raw materials, packaging, and other warehouse goods and materials. * The exact nature of the responsibilities may vary, depending on the facility where the Warehouse Associate is employed.

Job Duties:

  • Verifies the accuracy and quality of products received from vendors/suppliers, and ships them to customers.
  • Performs all check-in and check-out duties assigned, maintaining proper records (Bill of Lading (BOLs), receivers, pick tickets, etc.) for each individual task according to standard warehouse operations procedures.
  • The company counts the goods returned to the plant by sales and delivery personnel that are damaged, full or empty.
  • Safely and efficiently operates the Yard Switcher and Automatic Turnbull trucks on the premises, from the designated parking area to the bay doors for loading/unloading.
  • Interacts with automation systems and screens, voice pick system or paper picking ticket as required to verify and record product and build, finish and verify accuracy of pallets or place product on automatic conveyors in order to ensure accurate loads and inventory counts.
  • Identifies machine faults, troubleshoots system issues, corrects system errors/issues and performs basic cleaning and maintenance on automated systems.
  • Safely and efficiently operates various warehouse material handling/moving equipment in order to store, stage or retrieve products and materials in designated areas or onto automatic conveyors/trailers as specified. *Equipment may include single or double forklifts, High Speed Picking Area (HSPA) claws, walkie-talkies, pallet jacks or any other equipment as specified.
  • Safely and efficiently operates other warehouse equipment and material handling machinery, including the floor scrubber, cardboard baler, dock plates, bay doors or any other equipment as designed.
  • Performs all required safety and pre-trip checks on assigned equipment.
  • Performs janitorial tasks as necessary in a designated work area to maintain a clean and organized space (which may include the full facility), including emptying trash, cleaning up spills, picking up debris, sorting out overturned pallets/products, or other tasks assigned as assigned.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing practices and food safety guidelines, as well as other food safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • To pass the forklift skills assessment, a person must be able to safely operate a PBV material handling equipment.
  • At least six (6) months of Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Computer/Human Machine Interface skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • What are some good communication skills, reading, writing and math skills?
  • Sorting and grouping skills.
  • To read and understand the difference between product labels, you must be able to follow instructions.
  • You must be able to count large quantities of products and materials.
  • To perform work, one must be able to read/hear and understand procedures.
  • You must be able to work in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled with exposure to hot/humid or cold weather conditions.
