Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a detail-oriented person to serve as an office associate in the Healthcare Unit at the Centralia Correctional Center. This individual will be working with individuals' medical files, creating schedules and making decisions. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
1 requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
1 requires 2 years of office experience.
2 requires the ability to type accurately at 45 words per minute. '
What are the preferred qualifications in order of significance?
- At least two (2) years of experience as a secretary provides office support and assistance in a fast-paced private or public organization.
- At least two (2) years of experience composing complex and confidential correspondence and/or documents.
- At least two (2) years of experience arranging and storing up complex financial systems.
- At least two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office, Windows, or other similar software.
- At least one year of working experience in a correctional setting is required.
- At least one year of experience as a receptionist in an office setting includes answering telephones and routing calls to appropriate entities, opening, sorting and distributing mail, responding to inquiries in person or electronically, and purchasing office supplies. '
Conditions Of Employment
1. Requires ability to pass IDOC/IDJJ background check.
On January 1, 2020, the Illinois Constitution made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis. The use of unauthorized drugs, including weed, by an employee is prohibited, said a state police statement.
3. Applicants are required to abide by all quarantine and other medical standards set out by the employer.
