OVERVIEW ****

S&B is actively searching for an experienced Sr. Project Manager to join our team in Greenville, SC., which generally carries the functional title of Sr. project manager but can also be able to perform the following duties: has management oversight responsibility for a multi-project team or single EPC-client and must meet all relevant criteria.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages a group of project managers, project leads and/or project engineers along with other technical professionals sufficient to support an optimum level of projects ranging in size (dollar and resource) and degree of complexity. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding, performance review and mentoring.
  • This role is responsible for the overall safety, quality and timeliness of work by all engineering and construction support groups performing project control, scheduling, procurement, Quality Management and Safety functions. This role provides functional oversight for these roles.

EDUCATION

  • Usually, a 4 year degree in engineering requires an additional degree in business administration.
  • Equivalent work experience may substitute for management approval. Registration as a professional engineer is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of 15 years total experience, 11 years as a project manager/lead and equivalent working knowledge and experience may substitute for the work in a discipline. Must have working knowledge of the various software packages and automated engineering and reporting systems used by S&B.


TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the primary interface with the client, it must be responsive to each client's needs.
  • Develops close relationships with his clients through listening sessions and company reviews to achieve alignment and confirm/establish goals and objectives.
  • He should be familiar with S&B's lessons learned from the database and must apply these lessons to his client's projects. '
  • Open and effective communications with senior management. '
  • Establishes required project organization and works with departmental managers on staffing.
  • Oversees development of cost estimates for engineering, procurement and construction projects in small and mid-size markets.
  • Ensures that project managers / project leads / engineers are preparing for corporate review meetings in accordance with both company and client expectations.
  • Participates in regular corporate review meetings, both internally and with clients.
  • Responsible to ensure that work is performed effectively relative to safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Reviews of Project Quality Evaluation :
  • He drives and participates in Root Cause Investigations (RCI) regarding safety, quality, cost and schedule overruns.
  • Ensures project teams are operating in accordance with S&B Project Instruction Manual.
  • Total Quality Management ensures the complete implementation of Total Quality.
  • Initiates Quantity Based Trending
  • The EPC is responsible for the capital budget. )
  • Assists in the procurement of goods and services, including taxes, fees, and other fees. )
  • All invoices for payment are approved.
  • Ensures development of subcontracting strategy. )
  • Oversees the implementation of the project safety plan.
  • Participates in product development and sales presentations.
  • Ensures project completion is performed.
  • Participates in projects and other business development activities.
  • Participates in project design and construction review for key projects and alliances.
  • Interfaces with project managers, leads and project engineers to determine specific staffing needs.
  • On projects in line with company requirements, the appropriate level of project control is used.
  • Assigns Project Lead/Engineer to assist in development of RFP and manages small projects for alliance work.
  • All projects follow the guidelines contained in the S&B Project Management Manual. "
  • Ensures project oversight capabilities through mentoring and career development of Project Management/Lead Engineering staff.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical publications. Job-success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship-development skills; job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part on effective interaction and communication with customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the Weinberg community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts like probability and statistical valuation, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as cost and schedule risk analysis and estimating techniques. ]

This requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, and climb. It also requires clear, close-range vision; depth perception; and the capacity to focus. Lifting 26 pounds may occasionally be required on field trips.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally, a normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions and loud noises; workers near moving mechanical parts; vibrations or fumes; toxic chemicals in operating plants; or participate in construction meetings.
