The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest software development specialist in Information Technology Services at the Central Office, Franklin County.

As a software development specialist, you will develop software applications and perform analysis and design. You will work with business personnel to identify and document system software requirements while defining problems and developing potential solutions. You will facilitate requirements during the PMO's meetings by participating in discussions using standards and practices determined by the organization.

You are going to identify the approach and break down of the business problem into units of work, while creating and communicating information technology - process flow and flowcharts as well as developing future process flow.

You will conduct testing, implement and assist with documentation. You Weinstein will perform software development tasks including source control and UX deployment activities per verbal instructions while answering questions on technical topics to assist other staff in software development. They will communicate with peers and others and guide the performance of software development tasks according to -=--=-=-+-+--+-ES-monitoring of quality assurance and testing.

You will gather, interpret and apply information from a variety of sources to provide assistance in the development of software, activities or events. You also intend to promote system security and awareness by adhering to the Agency's and/or State Department's cyber security policy and standards.

Qualifications

Completing an undergraduate program in computer science or information technology, including 12 months of work experience as specified by the employer's position description and job descriptions: [edit] 24 months of combined work experience in any combination of the following: testing and performing systems analysis, developing and modifying programs for computer applications, recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing implementation,

  • Or completion of a core computer science or information systems program, with at least 30 months of experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and modifying programs for computer applications, recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as specified by the job description and/or job posting, including 12 months of work experience in primary technology and assistance with documentation.

  • Or 48 mos. Combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and aiding with documentation including 12 mos of work experience in primary technology specified by the agency's position description/job posting.

  • Or the equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Knowledge of: computer and electronics, oral and written communication tools and techniques, customer support and personal service, state and agency policy, procedures and applicable laws, vision, mission, and goals of the organization., software development principles and methods for design, development, testing and implementation of new or modified software, commonly used query language, mathematic principles relative to assigned area in IT, IT principles, methods and practices in assigned specialty area, standard software validation tools, software distribution tools and mechanisms, technical writing and documentation practices.

Ability to stay up-to-date on current technologies in an assigned area of interest, deal with problems involving several variables in a familiar context, and define problematic variables; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
