In our Pediatrics High Risk department, the Research Coordinator will be responsible for managing the various research projects at the clinic. They may also be responsible for coordinating the PI schedule and providing monthly updates on the progress of their research or work as well in addition to reporting it regularly. Our approach involves providing compassionate care to children with medical complexity, who are the most vulnerable population. Position Location:

At the Texas Medical Center, UTHealth Houston is providing high-risk pediatric services.
University Professional Building @ 6410 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77030
Schedule: Full Time, Mon-Fri (Hybrid schedule possible)

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Facilitates the daily management of research projects by ensuring that personnel, facilities, and supplies are in place to support the research project objectives, budgets, and timelines.'
  • He works closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects to prepare progress reports and grant proposals for private foundations, governmental agencies, and other organizations. Additionally, he works with the office of the registrar to prepare grant proposals for public foundations and governmental agencies.
  • He helps with budget preparation, initiates re-budgeting requests to meet the needs of research staff, and approves expenses across multiple projects. Attends research-planning meetings to help prepare drafts of budgets for departmental leadership approval. Reports back any discrepancies or individual appointment.
  • Ensures that all employees are receiving the necessary training and courses, while also creating annual progress reports and applications for various committees.
  • Conserves undisclosed records of gathered data, maintains integrity and accuracy of information, including both individual patient details and departmental programmatic data.[10]
  • Provides preliminary reports and correspondence for the division or department head.'
  • Meets with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies to discuss proposals and funding opportunities.
  • Provides administrative direction and guidance to staff within the department responsible for their work.
  • May scrutinize contracts and devise training arrangements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Working knowledge of MS Office.

Minimum Education:

Instead of education, a bachelor's degree in allied fields or relevant work experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
