CLASS DESCRIPTION

The City of Baltimore is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the Baltimore City Office of Information and Technology (BCIT). We are seeking an efficient Human Resources Generalistent II to facilitate daily HR-tasks, including recruitment, interview scheduling, and interim employee management as well as working closely with other members of the human resource team to accomplish the overall mission of our agency.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Supports Recruitment Coordination
  • HR Business Partner supports the HR management team to manage the coordination of high-volume interview scheduling for various positions across the organization in an efficient manner.
  • Manages the onboarding process for new employees, including offer letters and background screenings. Account creation within Workday is also included, along with HR orientation and other pre-hire/administrative tasks.
  • Effectively communicates with Hiring Leaders across BCIT to provide status updates regarding new hires throughout the interview process, ensures calendar invites are accurate and complete with the proper documentation and attachments.
  • Communicates with clarity to applicants, vendors, and vendors in a timely manner. Communicates immediately to resolve conflicts to avoid process delays.
  • Ensures onboarding and all new hire paperwork is sent out in a timely manner prior to a candidate's start date.
  • Reviews documents for accuracy, and follows up as needed for additional information.

  • Internship Management

  • Coordinate and communicate with hiring managers, recruitment officers, and city officials to provide an in-demand internship program.
  • Career Fair and Resume Review for Internships. Assist in Yearlong Programming.

  • Recruitment social media/Events

  • Maintains and updates our activity within our LinkedIn promotions page to spotlight jobs, create flyers for recruitment-marketing purposes.
  • As the Recruitment Representative of BCIT, attend city-wide job fairs to present your high-priority positions and connect with prospective applicants.
  • As assigned, performs ad-hoc projects.
  • Other duties are assigned to him.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • I have 3 years of experience in recruitment management as a recruiter or talent acquisition coordinator. I am looking to get into full-time work at an IT company. What should I do?
  • The strong attention to detail and the ability to move quickly with a sense of urgency in fulfilling high-priority tasks.
  • Past experience includes managing an internship program and onboarding interns.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for each year of the experience requirement. One year's graduate course work in human resources management, business administration or public policy from an accredited college or university may be substituted.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Human Resources Management: Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration and recruitment.
  • Human Resources: ability to develop and implement agency-wide human resources procedures.
