GENERAL INFORMATION:

Status: Full-Time
Grade: 16 [$21.63 - $29.10/hour]
SUMMARY: Supervises personnel in the Records Unit for efficient and effective collection and maintenance of all Departmental records including storage and security.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma (or equivalent) and three (3) to six (6) months related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred certifications/licenses include: Certified Terminal Operator (certified by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy), Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC), Notary Public and Constable. Applicants should have supervisory experience; as well as experience with fingerprinting, computers/typing, and customer service.
WORK ACTIVITIES: Ensures all employees perform their duties in an efficient and responsible manner. Promotes cooperation and good morale within the division and between other divisions and bureaus. Periodically examines reports submitted by employees to ensure accuracy, timeliness and completion. Maintains compliance with Departmental rules and regulations as relates to the Records Unit. Notifies the Staff Services Division Commander of any situation not consistent with the duties of the Records Unit. Acts as liaison between Maine State Police and the Department in all matters involving Maine METRO and NCIC such as- administrative duties, quality assurance, quality control and security, training, and monthly validations. Assists with preparation of performance evaluations for all Division employees. Ensures fingerprints, case dispositions, and/or record cards are up to date. Maintains accurate records of all monies received as fees or fines and properly posts and deposits funds following City procedure. Coordinates efficient flow of records and files required by the various courts as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
