Summary Statement

Your work will directly impact the price Delawareans pay for electric, natural gas, and water and wastewater service. Your role as an analyst will include reviewing company reports and books, providing testimony and defending the PSC-staff position in rate cases or other proceedings.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended as an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position.   • Examines regulated company reports, records and books; analyzes statistical and financial information; and determines compliance. '
  • Monitors financial and administrative activities of regulated companies, analyzes monthly & quarterly reports, ensures authorized rates are not exceeded, recovers fuel costs within allowable limits, identifies variances from previous submissions and determines reason for change. '
  • Plans, conducts and coordinates audits. )
  • Provides testimony at public hearings and defends his position.
  • Verifies mathematical accuracy of company reports and that the rate is within approved limits, performs statistical analysis, and computes ratios and standard costs. '
  • Writes memos and reports, performing assigned special projects such as literature search for precedents.
  • Ensures that regulated companies file all required reports.

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration, business management, economics and finance, engineering or a related field.
