The role of an Operator-in-Training involves working in a collaborative environment, guaranteeing that our customers can deliver their services without interruption.'
The wastewater treatment plant in Farmington, NM requires individuals to handle a range of tasks, including equipment maintenance and quality control testing. You will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the facility, which includes managing the flow and processing of water/wastewater, as well as monitoring changes in operating conditions and interpretation of meter and gauge readings. Additionally, you will perform shift log duties while maintaining electronic records such as time logs and payroll data. This role requires specific technical expertise due to frequent inspections by employees.
Here’s What You’ll Need:- Experience No prior experience operating water/waste water treatment plants.
- Understanding of computer tools like Microsoft Office Suite and the process of entering information into a maintenance management system. Additionally,
- A driver's license that is free of major traffic violations.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Currently, we are working toward obtaining a first-level certification in water and waste treatment. Additionally, we are currently engaged in the process of obtaining specialized certifications for water and wastewater treatment.
- Basic knowledge of the principles and practices that govern water/wastewater treatment plants, including valves, pumps, and motors. [Additional information]

The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
