Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) Office Specialist 2 position for the Eastern Oregon Agriculture and Natural Resource Program ( EOANRP ) at Oregon State University ( OSU ).


This position is housed and supervised in the Eastern Oregon Agriculture and Natural Resource Program in La Grande, OR.
The OSU Agriculture & Natural Resource Program at EOU is a cooperative partnership between Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Eastern Oregon University. The OSU Ag & NR Program was developed to help serve the needs of the communities and entities of eastern Oregon and the Intermountain West. EOU has approximately 4,000 students. La Grande has a population of about 12,500 and is located about 260 miles east of Portland, OR, and 170 miles northwest of Boise, ID, the closest cities.

Key Responsibilities
40% EOANRP Student Services Program Support:
  • Assist the Head Advisor with updating and maintaining student files and database with current and accurate information.
  • Ensure student records and files are maintained accurately and appropriately.
  • Maintain student advising files by updating/maintaining individual student degree check sheets.
  • Assist in updating, developing and reporting to the OSU and EOU Office of Registrars and other required reports.

30% Communication:
  • Oversee the execution of recruitment mailings to potential students and execution of mass mailings to high school and community colleges.
  • Compile information from various sources to develop, design, and send out program newsletters and to manage and develop materials for program website/social media.
  • Respond to OSU Ag Program inquiries from applied and admitted students via phone, email, or other appropriate communication process.
  • Coordinate program tours with EOU Admissions department, campus visitors, and Ambassador Advisor.
  • Coordinate with appropriate entities for scheduling and announcement of events.

30% Program Administrative Support:
  • Oversee the design, ordering, and printing of teaching and recruiting materials.
  • Maintain/order Program office materials and supplies, and submit billing for services.
  • Reconcile purchases on procurement card.
  • Manage program office equipment, including liaison between OSU and EOU on technology services for classrooms, faculty offices and student work areas. Maintain the program inventory list.
  • Update manuals related to unit or department academic programs or services, to include writing, editing, proofing, and completing final drafts.
  • Serve as the Scholarship Administrator for scholarship software, including pulling reports and assigning system roles for faculty in the program.
  • Schedule maintenance and keep a log for program vehicles.

What We Require

Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience. College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
