Job Summary
This position exists to provide administrative support activity for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and College of Science & Engineering. This position assists the Department Chair with administrative activities for the department, supervises student employees, provides administrative support for department faculty, and serves as the primary customer service point of contact for students (non-advising questions).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate and problem solve with others courteously, tactfully, and positively with students, faculty and the general public.
- Communication skills to sufficiently speak, read, understand, and respond to others both verbally and in writing.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite software applications for creation, utilization, and modification of documents, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to draft professional correspondence; collect, manipulate and create reports via spreadsheets or databases.
- Budgeting sufficient to monitor the department finances at it relates to procurement, travel reimbursement, student employment budget.
- Leadwork skills sufficient to perform hiring and assigning, directing, and scheduling of work of student workers or graduate assistant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to engage in continuous improvement of skills and capacities.
- Knowledge of St. Cloud State University and University policies and procedures, D2L, Marketplace, FWM.
- Strong organizational and office management skills, dependability, and personal flexibility.
