Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Systems, Computer Networks, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with physical fiber networks, optical networks, and dense wave-division multiplexing.
  • Working in a telecommunications environment with field operations, technicians, engineers, or contractors. Experience managing or directing a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working across multiple levels and functions.
  • Experience in telecommunications (e.g., carrier class scale).
  • Experience in a data center or PoP environment.
  • Knowledge of large optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services.
  • Knowledge of OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and environmental controls relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
  • Ability to engage/influence tactically and strategically decision-making.

Google's Network Engineering team is responsible for managing Google's complex network, which serves as a valuable source of information and resources for Internet users across multiple devices. As a Production Network Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and operation of private data networks worldwide, in collaboration with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers, as well as key Google stakeholders, as well As construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. You will build a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network that is designed to meet the needs of both end users and customers.

Our engineers' engineers are passionate about restoring voids in warranties so we can keep our networks functioning, ensuring our users have the best possible experience through our architecture. We also maintain data centers and build the next generation of Google-based platforms, which is crucial to Google's product portfolio. We work tirelessly to ensure our customers' online experience is the best it can be.

Additional Information:

Our base salary for this full-time position in the US is $105,000-$154,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. This salary is determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities

  • As a POC, they are responsible for executing, constructing, and operating the network across the metropolitan areas and data centers.
