Job Summary:

Position Summary

  • Under the leadership of the Executive Director, Technical Operations, the company's fleet of private planes are managed by the Executive director, Technical Operations. The responsibility is to oversee the implementation of Interior Maintenance and Show Quality Standards (SQS).
  • The responsibility of maintaining the interior of the flight and private destinations, including the guest rooms and 'back of house' areas, falls on the individual responsible for the maintenance of the areas.
  • Assist in providing technical and operational guidance to the ships and the DCL's private destinations, and also provide technical and operational assistance to the ships.
  • Develop, schedule, and implement integrated interior maintenance plans that cover a long-term period. The objective is to develop and plan these plans.
  • Construct, plan, and budget, and execute projects related to interior design and construction.
  • The responsibility of maintaining the interior maintenance and SQS standards in the company's system of record falls on the individual, who is responsible for updating it as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Disney Cruise Line's Interior Maintenance and SQS standards remain in good standing and maintained.
  • Managing the departmental budgets for their respective departments. Reports are also reviewed.
  • Managing shipboard operations and assigning authority to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Liaison with USCG, Lloyd's Register, and USPH in areas of responsibility.
  • Operational adherence to applicable international, national, and local laws, standards, and other applicable requirements is ensured through the operation of the organization.
  • The Disney Cruise Line® fleet and private destinations are overseen by a team of experts who oversee and monitor their interior and exterior maintenance, as well as ensure that the procedures are followed, documented, and the associated records are archived in AMS.
  • Maintain operations, and inspect interior maintenance, and SQS standards. Revise and maintain operations standards.
  • Build partnerships within WDI, shipboard teams, and private destination teams responsible for interior maintenance.
  • Provide solutions and preventive measures for issues within your area of responsibility. Provide solutions and solutions as required by law.
  • Assist in the coordination with ship steering committees and shore departments in the establishment and implementation of long-term maintenance plans, including dry and wet docking. This responsibility is extended.
  • Complete annual assessments of all ship-wide maintenance aspects concerning ships.
  • Responsible for maintaining and preserving accuracy and confidentiality of the company's database and archives of technical drawings and manuals within its areas of responsibility.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Technical Operations with development of training and promotion plans, while keeping track of the content of the Learning Management System and updating the Learning Management system as required. This is a vital responsibility.
  • The efficient resolution of reported maintenance and repair issues related to the Show Quality Standard (SQS) within an area of responsibility is attributed to efficient management.
  • Manage shipboard interior areas of maintenance across all disciplines, including warranty issues, maintenance (preventative and long-term), safety, regulatory, operational, and financial responsibilities, and equipment/inventory control. These responsibilities are directly related to areas.
  • The vessel's Assets and Maintenance System (AIMS) requires corrective action from the corrective action in the vessel.
  • As part of project oversight, the shipboard refurbishment projects are managed through dry docking, including project budgets, vendor bids/contracts, scopes, and schedules, as needed.
  • Engage with Walt Disney Imagineering in research and development activities related to dry dock vendors and materials for new vendors and material service-related projects. Partner with Walt Disneyimagining.
  • Ensure Fleet Interior maintenance is completed as per Lloyds Register requirements by completing the necessary paperwork and verifying completion.
  • The AMS system administration task is assigned to the Marine, Technical and Interior departments responsible for managing the AMS system, which covers the Marine and Technical Operations Office, Ships, and private destinations.
  • Marine and Technical Operations Internal Maintenance LOGs must be maintained in compliance with LOG policy and procedures for all onboard departments within areas of responsibility. This task is done on a regular basis.
  • Executive Director, Technical Operations as required to assist with ongoing dialogue regarding technical aspects of reported vessels and ongoing dialogue regarding reported incident details and actions taken to address reported incidents.
  • The purpose of the Request For Change (RFC) process is to assess vessel and shore submissions for specific Regulatory or Classification Society requirements to be met, which are then reviewed through a rigorous review process.
  • The Fleet may be tasked with implementing material changes or modifying operation procedures to address root cause analysis findings under the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) in CDCLIMS through a Fleet Management Plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining general safety management responsibilities in the Safety Management System within their designated areas of authority.
  • The responsibility of implementing and maintaining the Safety Management System policy and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility falls on the individual responsible for implementing the system.
  • Upon reviewing and coordinating the development of amendments to the SMS policy and procedures, the Executive Director of Technical Operations must approve the final approval before submitting the final approval to the Secretary of State for further action.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal abilities and effective communication skills and a successful ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners, ship management, and regulatory and industry organizations (e.g., USCG, Lloyd's Register, USPH, CLIA).
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and to manage shipboard, shoreside and private destinations (as required) and communicate with senior management and shipboard staff. Additionally, ability to oversee shipboard operations such as commercial, government, and recreational vessels.
  • Acquaintance with shipboard operations, safety standards, and preferably maritime standards. Knowledgeable.
  • Project Management Skills: Leaning quickly in a fast-paced environment with proven experience. Experience leading projects.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects on a budget while still meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with documentation and record keeping. Past experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking.
  • Microsoft Excel, as well as other applications and software, requires having hands-on experience.
  • Capacities to acquire new knowledge on new systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience - 5+ years + preferred interior maintenance.
  • Experience with dry docks / Refurbishment / Remodeling / Dry Dock experience / Renovating / Dry dock experience. Refurbished.
  • Proficient in AutoCad

Education

  • Obtaining a bachelor's degree in related field and/or experience, or technical certifications, is equivalent. Bachelor's degrees in related fields are preferred.
