Position Description
The I am a media technician in production. is Civil Service position with the Nashville Public Library. The incumbent will assists with the day to day operations of all Audio Visual Services, Live Event Production, and Audio and Video Recording Services. The incumbent will also perform technical and professional duties involved in digital recording, broadcasting, streaming, podcasting, and announcing radio programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
The Nashville Public Library, located in the heart of Nashville, Hosts 4 million visitors annually and maintains a collection of 2 million items, including a one-of-a-kind civil rights collection. The library occasionally hosts book clubs and offers free lunchtime concerts featuring everything from salsa to soul, to blues to jazz.
Work Hours: This position requires evening and weekend work hours.
Typical Duties
- Operates cameras, streams live video with Premiere, and edits master files online and edits audio files for broadcast.
- The materials for the upcoming programs are gathering.
- Makes announcements, introduces programs and performs various on-air duties.
- Performs audio technician duties for events and studio recordings. )
- Assists with station imaging/branding.
- Assists with special production projects.
- Assists with design and installation of audio visual systems.
- Assists with the preparation, collection and restoration of audio visual materials.
- Provides assistance with upkeep, repair and use of audio visual inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and one year of audio-visual or related experience or associate's degree in a related field.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan
Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of
the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment
with the Metropolitan Government.

- Both PC and Mac AV editing platforms and production software proficiency. )
