Summary
We are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to join the city of Charlotte's Police Department! In this role, you will compile records concerning issues with issuing materials and receiving orders.
Examples of Duties
- Data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and requisitions for accounting records. Writes, types or enters information into a computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, or shipping records.
- In established sequence, keeps back order files and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
- He compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, current delivery conditions to determine the supply and need for replenishment.
- Prepares requisitions, orders or other documents for the purchase of new or additional stock items.
- Compares nomenclature, stock numbers, and other approved substitutes and other information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requests and shipping orders.
- Prepares daily management reports on requests, inventory control and specific area status for budget execution.
- Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
- Answers makes phone calls and helps customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned. )
- May require evening, weekend and holidays as scheduled.
Basic Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the city's needs in the event of major storms.
