THE POSITION
Are you looking for an opportunity to take your career to the next level? The Pennsylvania State Police, Analytical Intelligence Section is seeking a person with great communication and critical thinking skills to perform collection and analysis work involving criminal intelligence.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Intelligence Analyst 2, you will receive and analyze confidential information from the United States Department of Homeland Security, other law enforcement agencies, private citizens, and the media to formulate and pursue hypotheses of relevant developments, trends, and patterns of criminal behavior. This work includes synthesizing electronic data processing systems to analyze and store data, testifying at hearings and making oral presentations under the general supervision of the Unit Supervisor and Weinstein.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (40 hours a week)?

QUALIFICATIONS
What is the minimum experience and training requirement for a job?
- Two years of experience as an Intelligence Analyst 1 (commonwealth title), and 15 college credits in criminal justice, homeland security, or a related field; or
- Two years of professional experience in the analysis of information that includes reporting conclusions and recommendations, and a bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 15 college credits in criminal justice, homeland security, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 15 college credits in criminal justice, homeland security or a related field.
Necessary Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a top secret security clearance issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or attainment of this clearance during the probationary period and continual maintenance of it during employment in the position. Failure to obtain and maintain an FBI Top Secret Security Clearance will result in removal from that position, if other placement options are not available.
- You must obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification from the Pennsylvania State Police within the prescribed period and maintain the same for the duration of your employment in this job.
Additional Requirements:
- (2) years of critical thinking experience, to include using logic and reasoning in order to understand complex issues and apply research information to identify trends.
- (2) years of experience in gathering and analyzing data, arranging facts and saying them clearly, both orally and in writing.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- One year experience in conducting link/event analysis for complex investigations.
- A one year experience on target, method and criminal activity.
- One year experience in the use of multiple specialized analytics and intelligence systems, local, state, and federal databases, as well as open-source tools and social media platforms.
Legal Requirement:
- The FBI must pass a criminal history check and a background investigation.
