Position: Green Infrastructure Inspector
Department: Stormwater
PAYGRADE: 108 (NE)

Purpose of Classification:
Responsible for developing an inventory, documenting, inspecting and reporting the condition of Green Infrastructure Best Management Practices (BMP’s) that are being installed within Clayton County. This position will also assist with the inspections of overall Stormwater infrastructure that is being installed on development sites to monitor other BMP’s, such as stormwater ponds, or other infrastructure, such as pipe and structures.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Responsible for regularly updating and maintaining the green infrastructure inventory for the County, Forest Park, Riverdale, Lovejoy, Lake City, Jonesboro and Morrow for the MS4 permit, both for public and private infrastructure.
Responsible for inspecting all public and private green infrastructure, as listed on the EPD-approved GI/LID BMP list for the County and 6 Cities’ GI/LID Program, during all phases of construction to ensure that the infrastructure is being installed as designed; this will require regular on-going coordination efforts amongst many parties, including plan reviewers, project managers, construction superintendents, etc.
Regularly ensuring that the proper documentation is secured annually of the maintenance of all public green infrastructure in the County and 6 Cities in accordance with the State MS4 Stormwater Permit requirements; this documentation is to be submitted with each jurisdiction’s annual report submittal to the State.
Coordinate with Water Production Department, Communications Department Educational Outreach Coordinator, and all other CCWA Educational Outreach Coordinators as needed on behalf of the Stormwater Department and CCWA to conduct educational activities in the community regularly.
Responding to call/complaints as it relates to Green Infrastructure BMP as it relates to private/public facilities. Being the subject matter expert on the topic and providing needed answers to the public.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of experience in water, sewer, or stormwater construction, maintenance, or inspection; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. This is considered a Safety Sensitive position.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Within 12 months of hire, obtain the NGICP (National Green Infrastructure Certified Professional) Certification.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Knowledge of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and CMMS (Construction Maintenance Management Systems). Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (50-100 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
