Company : Lifetime Memoirs - The role of the interviewer is to bring to life and record their autobiographical stories, creating a wonderful family legacy. You will facilitate a lifelong learning process by building a relationship with an author over a series of personal meetings. Each regular meeting lasts 90 minutes and records 12 meetings. ''
Job location: Fairfield, Connecticut
Hiring for: Project no. 1812
Commitment: 5-6 months
Start date: September 2023
The role requires:
- Commitment to complete 12 interviews of 90 minutes each and spend time preparing for the sessions, uploading audio recordings and scanning the manuscript for changes after the sessions.
- Can work as part of a team and work to agreed timescales.
- Can follow procedures and work to directed instructions from the team's project manager.
- How can I learn how to use a recording machine and a scanner to select specified settings and upload them to our online database? Good IT skills.
- The commitment to complete an online training, which covers the technical and soft skills required for a position.
- Living close to the author, to allow short travel times of less than 10 miles or 30 minutes.
- Desire to work with and build a relationship with the author.
- Provided ability to structure a conversation to ensure all relevant information is obtained in a reasonable order.
- An interest in social history and people's stories, from the everyday to the extraordinary.
- Active listening and strong verbal communication skills are required.
- Empathy, patience and an open mind.
- Open-minded and non-judgmental
