DNR Forest Resources Student Experience Program 2016
About the program:
Join the DNR’s Forest Resources Division for a paid student position working
directly in the field with natural resource professionals. The Forest
Resources Student Experience Program will prepare students for rewarding
careers in natural resources management, public service, and future
leadership.
Students will learn and apply skills in a hands-on setting, contributing to the responsible management of Michigan's state forests and the health of our state's public and private lands.
These positions are limited to 129 hours per month.
responsibilities are tailored to each student and could involve :) :/
- Timber sale preparation, survey and marking.
- Permits, contracts or management plans.
- Assisting with forest regeneration surveys. )
- Assisting with forest health surveys.
- Working with GIS data to support land management.
