- The FI/SNAP interview specialist is responsible for providing services in line with federal and state laws and regulations, as well as policy and procedure manuals, and performing general work duties related to the administration of SNAP, SNAP-based ESAP and SCAP programs, and TANF programs in the Economic Services Division in the Lancaster county office to restore or improve financial stability for customers.
- At least 15 high-quality interviews are conducted daily, with phone and/or face-to-face interviews to assess applications for SNAP, TANF, and ESAP, as well as SNAP and TANF renewals.
- Considering applications for SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCAP, and reviewing certifications for eligibility and benefits. Ensure that all applications are reviewed and approved.
- In compliance with agency policy, maintains case records and files in an agency-designated computer system for confidential, timely, and accurate documentation of client work participation activities. Ensures timely entry into the SCOSA of events/activities that may impact client's continued eligibility for benefits. This is done in accordance with agency policy.
- And documents and pays for at least 3 possible claims to the Benefit Integrity Unit; prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as instructed. Additionally, he reports to the Clerk and attends meetings as instructed.
- Participates in all required economics services and participates in all required supervisory and staff meetings as required by the department. Additionally,
- Performs emergency shelter duties/services and Red Cross shelter duties or other emergency shelter services as directed. Additionally, they may perform these services on their own time.
Agency Requirements
A High School Diploma and relevant program experience in clerical, administration, Social Work, correctional, administration, or general business administration.
A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
