Job Duties

The Business Office receives financial support, with an emphasis on accounts payable. Conducts thorough analysis, inspections, and review of a variety of data to ensure accuracy and adherence to established procedures. Assists in technical and financial accounting duties by creating and maintaining financial records and reports. Ensures all accounting transactions are completed in accord with the Department of Corrections and the Department of Accounts policy and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Detailed work experience with numerical data and accurate calculations. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements. Knowledge of computer equipment and procedures. Skill and communication skills. Ability to provide information in a structured manner. Ability to communicate with employees and provide technical support. Ability to interpret and provide accurate reports.

Additional Considerations

Advance knowledge in basic accounting/bookkeeping or equivalent training. Working knowledge of State Financial Programs including CARDINAL, Fixed Asset Accounting and Control System
FAACS, Inmate Trust, and Inmate Pay. Knowledge of State travel policies. cin basic accounting/bookkeeping or equivalent training.
