New Job Equipment Operator 1 In Alabama

This position works out of the Public Works Department and sometimes performs physical labor intensive work. Job duties can include:

• Performing street repairs, including cutting pavement for the removal and replacement of base material, asphalt or cold mix operations.
• ) Removes snow from roads, grades roads, and sands streets. )
• The company collects and disposes of household garbage, recycles and yard debris; it collects and destroys brush; it provides new cans to the residents.
• Operates dump trucks, knucklehead trucks and rolling stock, small packing machines, overhead cranes, jackhammers and hand tools, various power tools such as road graders or saws. Brush trucks burn coal, welders? Track loaders are used for this job detail.
• State and federal standards are complied with at the landfill, monitoring dumpers for proper procedures and safety.
• Provides customer service, logs charge tickets, maintains records of frequency and amounts dumped, answers phone calls, writes daily reports on random truck loads to verify compliance with dumping procedures, balances cash drawer at the end of the business day and sends deposit to City Hall.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
