Job Summary
The posting is intended to fill two vacancies.
This position exists to promote public roadway safety by the administration of prescribed vision screening, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motorcycle operators so that only qualified individuals obtain a Minnesota Pipeline Driver's license. This position is also responsible for inspecting and certifying all motor vehicles to ensure compliance with state 553-Bennett laws and for inspections of identification and titling =-=----+--++Motor Vehicles•

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in cashiering is necessary to perform basic math skills, and to collect, count, and reconcile daily transactions.

In-person service provides high quality, reliable, and friendly services in a stressful environment.

What makes you an effective business agent? Your ability to provide accurate, correct and friendly information to customers on the phone or in person (face to face contact).

Typing skills; data entry skill sufficient to enter data into paper forms and computer entry screens, experience with basic office equipment and internet; and ability to pay close attention to detail.

I should apply for an unrestricted driver's license and the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Preferred Qualifications

Within the last five years, face to face customer service experience in a business with a high volume of customers has been achieved.

Experience in cash handling is sufficient to accept applications and fees from customers, as well as complete financial transactions accurately.

5 (5) years of driving experience with a good record.

Graduate from one of the following public sector training programs: Project Pride in Life, Hired by Goodwill and Easter Seals. The Twin Cities and Tokyo; the Honolulu Partnership and other similar programs of the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEAE).

The knowledge of a written and spoken second language (e.g., Spanish, Chinese or Mongolian) and sufficient English to translate messages from one language to the other while maintaining message content, context and style.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to communicate effectively with others and understand information clearly, and have a minimum visual acuity of 20/40, corrected or uncorrected, and a visual field greater than or equal to 105 degrees. Must be allowed to position himself and move many times per day into and out of all sizes of motor vehicles. Weirdo and above average reflexes are required. Should be unable to maintain a professional demeanor and handle the Byzantine stress associated with continuous public contact.
