As a biopharmaceutical company, RRD strives to offer rare disease patients orphan therapies in the United States. Requirements:Overview
This position is primarily responsible for managing day-to-day trade activities, pulling through commercial and government contracts on selected R&D products to meet Government Affairs needs for US business.[M]
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Trade Operations:
- Organize daily operations with specialty pharmacies, specialty distribution, and 3PL partners to handle tasks such as managing returns, managing orders efficiently, creating new products, etc.
- Working with the Supply Chain to guarantee the supply of R&D products to the market.
- Conducting price negotiations with distribution partners and negotiating pricing agreements.'
- (a) Direct external vendors to keep state licenses in good standing.
Contracting:
- In partnership with Market Access, design and execute commercial and government contracts, including those with federal agencies, state governments or other relevant entities. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy during the contracting process.
- Working in partnership with the Payer/Market Access, Finance, and RRD leadership to evaluate the impact of potential pricing and contract strategies on best price, gross to net, etc.
- To maintain competitiveness and profitability while meeting regulatory requirements, conduct financial analysis, cost estimation, and pricing review.
- Validating package comparisons for reimbursement plans in PBM/payer rebate invoices.
Government Affairs:
- This position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impact of changing government policy, legislative action that has yet to be taken, and policy changes made by CMS over Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
- All Government Affairs activities will be covered by the role, which could involve working with outside groups to alter policy at both state and federal levels.
- Engage in responsible decision-making and supervision to guarantee integrity and compliance with federal, state or local laws and corporate ethos throughout all operations.
Education and Experience
- The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with advanced degrees being preferred.
- Prior to joining pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies, candidates must have worked in commercial or market access positions for over 8 years, with at least 3 years of experience in trade operations, contracts and/or government affairs.
Knowledge and Skills
- Current knowledge on drug distribution channels, including clinics and hospitals, specialty distribution centers, specialized pharmacy (including European-based pharmacies), and government programs such as 340B, Medicaid, Part D, and Part B.
- Understanding the US political and economic systems?
- Good track record of contracts for commercial and government contracts.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.'
- Good rapport and proficiency in collaborating with experts in technical fields and at all levels of the team.
- Managing with self-discipline, agility, and inventiveness, he is adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously while working in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail; possessing proficiency in computer programming languages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint or SharePoint. Power BI (Power Analytics), Tableau, etc.
Work Environment
The office setting is professional. Depending on job requirements, the employee may have to attend meetings and travel out of state on weekends and nights. They must be capable of traveling by car or train/plane without any restrictions. Additionally, they must possess a valid driver's license and passport.
