The County of Riverside's Clerk of the Board has an opportunity for a Deputy Clerk of the Board located in Riverside.
The Clerk of the Board will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) required documentation. The FPPC is a five-member independent, non-partisan commission that has primary responsibility for the impartial and effective administration of the Political Reform Act. The Act regulates campaign financing, conflicts of interest, lobbying, and governmental ethics. Duties will include tracking Conflict of Interest training and Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests completion, creating a filing system to keep up-to-date records, and following up with officials in order to ensure requirements are met by the filing deadlines.
The selected candidate may also be assigned to manage a variety of other documents and files and may be trained as a back-up for the Clerk of the Board to assist on the Board of Supervisors meetings or other smaller commissions under the purview of the Clerk of the Board with performing a wide variety of complex administrative duties. Once the incumbent is comfortable with their regular duties, they will be assigned to supervise one or two staff members.
The Clerk of the Board is seeking candidates with a background working with elected and appointed government officials or in an administrative capacity within a government agency. Those with experience managing or creating complex record-keeping systems and/or administering compliance activities and documentation are encouraged to apply as well!

The Clerk of the Board performs numerous duties in fulfilling its charge to provide support to the Board of Supervisors and information to the public. Attending to all matters requiring the review or executive action of the governing authorities of the County of Riverside, the Clerk of the Board provides processing and dissemination of all board directives and policies and laws of the County's legislative branch. Additionally, the Clerk of the Board provides members of the public with agendas, notices of public hearings, access to public records and the opportunity to attend the open meetings of the Board of Supervisors, certain special districts, boards and authorities. By State statute the Clerk of the Board accepts claims and demands against the county, issues licenses and franchises, administers property tax appeals and manages the conflict of interest code for numerous governmental agencies.
