Qualifications
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation for a standard high school and at least 24 hours (two semesters) of post-secondary education.
What is the substitute for experience in education? Full-time work experience in a case management related role or a position working with children may be substituted for the required post-secondary education.

Summary
This class has a considerable workload at the entry level, in that an employee of the latter may be responsible for performing professional case management duties such as conducting home visits, recommending removal, testifying in court and participating in child and family team meetings (CFTM). An employee in this class must be able to work independently with minimal supervision on assigned tasks. This classification differs from that of 'DCS Case Manager 1':
Responsibilities
- Providing administrative case management support to include scheduling appointments (including medical and dental screenings), entering case documentation, and scribing meetings (like Child & Family Team meetings).
- Coordinating and completing detailed search and retrieval tasks.
- Coordinating information for distribution of perpetrator notification letters.
- Transporting youth and families to medical appointments, school and court, etc.
- Providing supervision for parent/guardian/sibling visitation and supervised youth in transitional environments while awaiting placement.
- In coordination with case managers, community partners and service providers, I am interacting with the DCS staff.
- Performing data entry for non-direct child abuse referrals from web, fax or email.
- Completing data base searches, criminal background checks and NCIS - criminal records checks.
- Coordinating the notification of staff and patients for emergencies.
- Participates in required training on facts and de-escalation techniques.
