Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
6 months of experience in cleaning, maintenance, or ground keeping of food service work.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Custodian 1 by the presence of experienced-level custodial tasks.
Compares with Custodian 3 in absence of advanced-level custodial tasks.
Examples of Work
Here are a sample of common duties associated with this job. Not all possible tasks are included.
By sweeping, mopping, and polishing bathrooms, hallways, and other assigned areas.
Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
Moves, rearranges and cleans furniture and fixtures.
Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to the proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
Strips, cleans and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
The procedures for disposing of infectious waste follow:
Maintains clean and tidy equipment, and reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
Sets up tables, chairs and other furniture for special meetings or banquets as assigned.
He cleans blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and smothering carpet areas. )
Strips, decontaminates and makes beds for patients, residents, students etc.
May perform ground work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed cutting, etc.
