The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking a motivated professional to direct and coordinate all functions and operations of a small PA CareerLink® site in alignment with the Commonwealth’s strategic plans, the local Workforce Board’s plans, and operational site plans. As a CareerLink® Administrator 1, you will have the exciting opportunity to create a high-performance work environment through the development and promotion of functional and cross-functional teams. Demonstrate leadership by establishing and communicating specific and measurable performance standards for staff in collaboration with the Operator and with valued input from staff. Take part in developing improvement processes to respond to immediate operational needs while ensuring that short-term actions support long-term objectives.
You will oversee fiscal management of the site in collaboration with the Operator and Fiscal Agent and provide recommendations for budget changes based on analysis of expenditures, data trends, and service projections. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local elected officials, employers, community and union officials, educators, and representatives of public and private agencies and organizations. You will participate in public relations activities for civic and community organizations to promote awareness and use of PA CareerLink® services. This includes addressing media and public requests for labor market and workforce information in cooperation with the Workforce Board, Press Office, and Center for Workforce Information & Analysis (CWIA).
This position covers both PA CareerLink® Cambria and PA CareerLink® Somerset County Offices. Travel is required to other PA CareerLink® offices, partner agency offices, employer establishments, and other locations as necessary.

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Two years of experience as an Employment Security Program Supervisor or Career Link Program Supervisor; or
-
Three years of technical experience in unemployment compensation, public employment or job training service work including one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree; or
-
Three years of managerial, administrative, or consultative work involving planning and coordinating the work of others including two years in a public employment or training service agency or a closely related program; and a bachelor's degree; or
-
An equivalent combination of experience and training that included two years in a public employment or training service agency or a closely related program, including or supplemented by one year of supervisory experience.
