The Position
Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation, develop and implement project plans and work plans, prepare recommendations and participate in public relations activities.
In a trainee capacity, the incumbents perform in a training and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this occupation. _-*/
Biologist : The Management Area 7 - Game Division - Biologist is responsible for surveying and monitoring various game species within northeastern Elko County, including survey and inventory of big game and small game. Data management, data analysis, and report writing are essential to this position; however, some surveys can be conducted by foot or vehicles. A significant part of this position's time is also dedicated to the Elko Incentive Program and requires significant coordination with local landowners.

Bachelor's degree in biology, or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Or a combination of education and professional experience in conducting research studies. [edit] Data collection, analysis and interpretation for fisheries, water management projects.

This is required experience and/or the ability to conduct extensive aerial surveys in both the front and back seat of a helicopter.
