The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Bryant University seeks an experienced collaborative and innovative leader to serve as Associate Dean of the college.
The successful candidate will be seasoned at interpersonal communication and diplomatic community engagement. This person will also be capable of engaging with a variety of campus stakeholders on issues at the intersection of teaching, learning, curriculum development, and assessment.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Coordinate with the department chair and the director of general education to develop program assessments, and collect program data.
  • In conjunction with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategy, the faculty can develop new undergraduate programs.
  • Coordinate with Chairs, Curriculum Coordinators and Executive Director of Graduate Studies to conduct market research and cost/benefit analysis to develop new programs in collaboration with Dean, Department Chair and Executive director of Career Accelerator. )
  • In conjunction with the department head and curriculum coordinator, develop existing community partnerships and develop new ones as part of the social impact and curricular integration.
  • Collaborate with the Dean, Department Chair and the Vice Provost of Student Success to implement clear strategies related to student retention and persistence to graduation.
  • Keep up-to-date on university policy and procedures related to teaching and learning.
  • Facilitate communication between the Registrar's office, advising, dean, and department chairs in matters related to scheduling and student degree completion.
  • Serve as a thought partner for the Dean of Arts and Sciences on essential university initiatives, task forces and activities.
  • Provide support to faculty through meetings related to student issues.
  • The dean supports the students and the faculty with all activities related to the college of Arts and Sciences.
  • Serve as the liaison for the CAS Dean's office on the Committee on University Curriculum, and on other appropriate university task forces, committees and initiatives.
Qualifications
This position expects a highly committed administrator and teacher prepared to implement a “growth agenda” within the College of Arts and Sciences. It requires an individual with a terminal degree in the arts and sciences from an accredited institution and successful experience in academic administration. A proven record in academic program development; demonstrated policy and decision-making ability; and proven effectiveness in fiscal management and resource allocation are required. Excellent interpersonal, communication, operational and problem-solving skills, and a record of strong, consistent, and successful collaboration with faculty, administrators, staff and students from diverse backgrounds is imperative. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative and consultative working relationships with all segments of the University community and external stakeholders is very important.
