What is the salary of a federal employee who has worked for more than 40 years?

Essential Functions

  • Makes decisions on applicants to include gathering information for incomplete applications, preparing completed application forms, making decisions on student applicants and cultivating applicants from a specific geographical location.
  • Supervises a caseload of 350 to 400 prospective students.
  • On a bi-weekly or monthly basis, the school maintains communication with its assigned students by using various communication methods, including text messages, emails, and phone calls.
  • Communicates with families about the various aspects of the college search/decision process, both on and off campus. This includes but is not limited to financial aid, billing, academics, lifestyle, athletics and student interest clubs.
  • Throughout the admissions process, the university develops a strong relationship with prospective students and their families, including personal communication in written and electronic format, phone calls and personal interaction as necessary.
  • The counselor advises students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs of loans and debt.
  • Ensures that all visiting students and families have a pleasant experience on campus by supporting the success of various student-visit programs through conducting information sessions, campus tours (one-on-one interviews), and virtual events and collaborating with a wide variety of departments and offices across campus.
  • The university represents the university at all events, including open houses, regional events, and academic showcases and high school visits.
  • Plans and executes travel in select geographic areas to include college fairs, classroom presentations or individual meetings with applicants. Also sometimes include night and weekends.
  • Obtains one additional or secondary responsibility within the department, as assigned by the supervisor, and may change depending on availability and office reorganization.
  • Participates in university-wide functions, including meetings, trainings, and announcements that can include multiple departments as necessary.
  • As it relates to the responsibilities described above, it supports employees in a respectful and efficient way.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Additional admissions/recruitment experience can substitute for completed degrees, if necessary.
  • Admissions/Recruitment experience preferred
  • What are the strengths of a strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and oral), presentation experience, sales/marketing skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Military experience, military school experience or ROTC experience is a plus but not required.
  • A valid driver's license is required for any purpose.
  • In MS Office (Word, Excel and SharePoint), what are the skills required to be a professional writer?
  • Be able to sit, squat, and reach; push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 20 pounds. Travel outdoors to various parts of the campus.
