- 2022: $49,845.

- Achieving an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology and Engineering Science, or a related field from a reputable regionally accredited college or university and two years of full-time paid experience in general construction and design. Either degree or qualification can be waived to become an inspector under state law.
- Achieving a high school diploma or completion of trigonometric and algebra courses, along with four years of full-time paid experience in general construction and design, is required.
- An acceptable experience is, according to this definition, "an experience that is acceptable."general construction work involving building, repairing and/or modernizing buildings, houses, and other structures. Activities primarily involve the performance of a variety of skilled construction and/or maintenance tasks in areas such as, but not limited to, carpentry, finishing carpentry, rough carpentry, plumbing, erection of a building, masonry.
- The appointing authority mandates that candidates complete all New York state required Building Inspector courses. To become a Code Enforcement Officer, they must complete the NYS Basic Training Program and receive 24 hours of in-service training every year. This certification is only possible after graduation.
- Must hold a valid New York driver's license for the entirety of their employment.'
DUTIES:
- The Zoning & Building Inspector is the primary person responsible for reviewing residential building permit applications, overseen by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, and subject to direct supervision. This position reviews plans and specifications to ensure compliance with the New York State Uniform Building and Construction Code and the City Code of Saratoga Springs.
- Among the duties is to ensure that all buildings, regardless of their construction or repair process, meet approved plans, industry requirements and city and state codes. The inspection component takes care of this.
- TEMPERATURE (less than 3 months) The role of Assistant Building Inspector is fulfilled in his/her absence. This position takes on the responsibility for a limited time frame.
- He is responsible for coordinating work with other employees.
