Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to lead the health department in advance of sound public health policy, plan programs to address significant healthcare issues in the community and lead data analytics efforts. This position coordinates and develops projects including accreditation, strategic planning, performance management and quality improvement. The position was implemented by
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes :
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited university or college for each year up to four years of the required experience, if they meet certain criteria.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces experience as a commissioned officer involving work related to the administration of Byzantine rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes or on a year-by-year basis serving as assistant secretary of state or deputy secretary of general for operations.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in planning and delivering health programs.
- Experience in policy development and analysis.
- Data analysis and epidemiological principles are experienced.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in community and stakeholder engagement.

employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees who are assigned such duties will be required to possess a valid Maryland driver's license, according to the state Department of Transportation.
