Supplemental Information

LASERS Fiscal division is seeking a detailed oriented accountant who has an interest in investments. The accountant's primary responsibility will be to support investment financial reporting.

All new hires, including permanent state employees, are required to serve a minimum of eighteen (18) months and not exceed twenty-four (24) months on probationary status under LASERS.

As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Accountant 1, Accountant 2, or Accountant 3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Accountant 3 is $80,267 . Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's program that offers 24 hours of accounting coursework.
The rules for grades and quarters in accounting are as follows: 1. Alloy wheels.
Instead of the baccalaureate degree, individuals can earn a CPA certification and complete twenty-four semester hours in accounting. This is an added benefit.
SUBSTITUTIONS FOR DEGREE ONLY:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree (not the 24 hours in accounting).

Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree (not the 24 hours in accounting) as follows:

A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
An accredited college or university is required to provide any degree, hours, or other college hours.

Examples of Work

Produces necessary financial and fiscal reports, which include the compilation and review of data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Engages in discussions with public and private accountants, state, federal, and independent auditors; banks, brokerage firms, program management personnel, as well as vendors, to provide information and technical support necessary to address issues.
Keeps records of cash flow, including funds withdrawn and received, funds disbursed from sources, deposits, refunds, and revenue classification based on funding sources and expenses.
It prepares, monitors and reconciles all revenues and expenses as well as the forecasted budget.'
Considering and validating transactions and agreements.'
Participates in the development of new accounting techniques in the design and implementation of accounting subsystems, compilation of manuals for accounting and computer application, and preparing managerial reports.
