We are looking for someone who is:

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.
Education: Possession of a bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business or public administration, human resources management, social or behavioral science, industrial psychology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time professional experience planning, designing and delivering educational and organizational development programs to supervisors and line staff, preferably in a public or community-based agency.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience of the type noted above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One (1) year of additional experience of the type noted above may be substituted for the required academic major.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a firefighter, fire engineer, fire captain, or fire training officer
- California State Fire Instructor
- Good analytical skills
- Effective public speaker
- Strong understanding of cloud based computing and the ability to write code in Google
- Competence with Google and Microsoft office/presentation software
- Experience with Vector Solutions LMS
- Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
- Multiple Choice Assessment: Candidates that clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualification will be invited to participate in a multiple choice assessment. The multiple-choice assessment is designed to measure candidates' competencies as they relate to Training and Staff Development. These may include, but are not limited to: Professional and Technical Expertise, Adaptability, Professional Integrity and Ethics, Customer Focus. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher to advance in the recruitment process. (Weighted 40%)
- Performance Assessment: Candidates that achieve a passing score on the required multiple-choice assessment will be invited to participate in a performance assessment. The performance assessment may be administered remotely, depending on the number of qualified candidates. The performance assessment is designed to measure candidates' competencies as they related to the Training and Staff Development Specialist classification. Candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the competencies assessed, as well as an overall passing score of 70% of higher. These may include, but are not limited to: Critical Thinking, Delivering Results, Design Sense, Attention to Detail, Presentation Skill and Professional Impact. (Weight 60%)
The Performance Assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place 9/27/23-10/04/23.
The required assessments may be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet; if so, you will need access to a reliable internet connection to participate in the assessments , as well as computer or mobile device with a camera.
The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
