Marcm LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Associate who has solid accounting & bookkeeping experience for the Tax/Family Office Services division in the Hartford, CT office. Knowledge of fiduciary accounting a plus. This position requires a high-energy, experienced professional with strong interpersonal skills.

Job Description
- Record monthly investment activity from brokers, dividends, interest, purchases and sales of marketable securities and other various investment activities.
- Ability to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basis technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures.
- Assist in performing bookkeeping services for clients, preparing work papers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, entering data for computer applications, and preparing engagement correspondence.
- Completing month-end work, including reconciliation of broker bank accounts and posting cash receipts and disbursements.
- Prepare federal and state individual, trusts and estates, and partnership returns, including exercising professional judgment with respect to issue identification to develop solutions to tax issues in returns.
- Research tax issues and legislation.
- Provide and maintain proper document to support tax return calculations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university (minimum of 150 college credits required) for CPA exam sitting eligibility.
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate or private business.
- Basic knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.
- Must have strong technology skills and be proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office. Working knowledge and experience with SEI Archway, CCH Axcess and ProSystem fx Engagement are a plus.
- Work well under pressure, able to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, organization and problem solving skills are a must.
- Ability to learn processes quickly and be able to apply that knowledge to engagements.
- Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments, be able to multi-task.
- A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
- Hybrid schedule requirement is to be able to work a minimum of three days in the office each week.
