Solid Waste Division (Transfer station)

Performs a variety of routine unskilled and semi-skilled tasks and duties in the operation of equipment vehicles at the Transfer Station including manual labor.

Operates Class A tractor trailer, Refuse Trucks, Recycle Trucks, Wheel loader, Compact Wheel loader, log loader, fork lift, trucks; roadside mower and any other equipment necessary for the operations of the transfer station.

Must be able to follow specific verbal or written instructions; and, to provide written equipment and other requisite reports; two (2) years of direct or four (4) years of relevant experience, or a combination that enables performance of all aspects of the position.

Applicant must be 18 years old and possess valid Massachusetts Class A Operator’s License or equivalent from reciprocal State (CDL) with Air Brake Certification and the ability to obtain a tanker endorsement; applicable hoister’s license(s) for position; any other licenses/endorsements as required by State or Federal law. Must successfully pass CORI/ SORI checks; must have an acceptable driving record and be insurable under city’s policy; must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen pursuant to the DOT Regulations.

Salary range: $ 21.40 - $ 25.07 DOE (Full hourly range exceeds the hiring range)
