Job Classification: Adjunct Faculty - Teaching Day classes, Music 260R and Music 360R

Required Degree: Bachelor's in Music Technology, Commercial Music, or similar discipline required. Master's degree preferred.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: 5+ years experience required in related field.

Duties/Expectations:

  • Instructor will be responsible for teaching weekly 50- minute private one to one technology and production lessons for students within the commercial music major. Instructor will also teach 30-minute lessons to a small number of prospective music major students.
  • In-depth knowledge and working experience with music sequencing; MIDI; Digital Audio Workstations including Pro Tools and Logic.
  • A fundamental knowledge of the principles of common synthesizer waveform techniques including subtractive syntheses, additive synthesis and frequency modulation.
  • Knowledge and experience of signal flow of analog and digital mixers.
  • Knowledge and experience of the use of in-the-box plug-ins and out- of-the-box signal processing equipment; application of songwriting principles as related to music production.
  • A knowledge of common recording and production studio practices and procedures.
  • An overall understanding of the music creation process from inception to completion and final delivery.
  • Typical number of students range between 4-8 per semester.
