Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources (HR) Specialist Sr. to join our organization. As a HR Specialist Sr., you will be primarily responsible for managing all aspects related to human resources functions such as recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and benefits. You will play a key role in managing HR policies, procedures, and programs while demonstrating the ability to work independently, produce high-quality work, and act as a team lead for lower-level positions. A successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a strong understanding of HR legal compliance. This is currently a potential position, pending award.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert knowledge and support for various HR programs, such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and training.
  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with organizational goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices (EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and OSHA).
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assign tasks, review work for quality and accuracy, and provide training and mentoring to team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and policies, recommending improvements and collaborating with stakeholders to develop enhancements as needed.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in a federal HR position.
  • Reside within 50 miles of the site of service location.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in federal HR terminology, operations, procedures, and requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience in a senior-level human resource role.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve employee morale.
  • Proven experience in managing a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Proficiency in using advanced HRMS and talent management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
