What You'll Be Doing

Help families in Wake County get the assistance they need to live healthy, thriving lives. The Family & Children Medicaid (FCMA) Supervisor provides supervision and administrative oversight of the daily activities of eligibility case workers in FCMA in the Economic Services division at the Somerset or Swinburne location. Essential functions include:
Creating and maintaining a work environment with open communication, team work and excellent customer service with the team and other staff
Sharing knowledge of all facets of the program, and all available resources with staff
Ensuring that work generated by staff is accurate and completed in a timely manner
Completing case reviews and documenting findings in appropriate databases to record the accuracy of work being performed by staff
Communicating to staff any issues, policies or changes that influence job responsibilities and case management practices
Supervising personnel by performing yearly evaluations, interviewing and hiring staff, and resolving personnel issues whenever warranted
Serving on the management team and attending meetings

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree
Three years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Experience working within a State or County Department of Health and Human Services
Current or prior supervisory experience
At least three (3) years of experience determining eligibility for a State or County Department of Health and Human Services’ Economic Self-Sufficiency Program (including, but not limited to, FCMA, Medicaid, Food and Nutrition Services, and/or Work First programs)
Proficiency in NCFAST and OnBase or another electronic document management system
Proficiency in MS Excel to create spreadsheets and work within existing spreadsheets
Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred
How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
Knowledge and strong understanding of Medicaid policy
The ability to interpret and explain policies to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals verbally, or in writing
The ability to listen and respond appropriately to others
Excellent organizational, customer service and time management skills; strong attention to detail in order to minimize mistakes in keying or indexing of electronic information
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships

Location: Positions available in multiple locations throughout the County

Employment Type: Regular

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

Hiring Range: $23.47 - $31.68, commensurate with experience
