The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeking a Deputy Commandant (Administrative Officer 5) to direct and plan all administrative services at Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. The facility provides nursing, personal, and domiciliary care, treatment, and restorative and rehabilitative services for veterans requiring long-term care.

As Deputy Commandant (Administrative Officer 5), you will be responsible for fiscal planning and control, personnel and labor management, accounting, budget, food service, housekeeping, laundry, and revenue. In this position, you will formulate and implement procedures and policies to ensure achievement and maintenance of maximum standards in all areas of business and care management. You will plan and prepare the annual institutional personnel, operating, and capital budgets and all other subsequent budgeting processes. You will also act as a controller for all funds maintained by the facility. In addition, you will assist the Commandant in planning and coordinating with the Medical Director to develop and implement business functions relating to resident care policies and work with the training staff to support the development of resident care plans.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (37.5 hours/day).
- Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Administrative Officer 4: or
- Eight years of experience in progressively responsible and varied management or staff work in a large public or private organization, including personnel and fiscal management, budgeting and procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Nursing Home Administrator license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Full-time professional management experience in budgeting, revenue and/or human resources.
- Four or more years of full-time professional management experience in a hospital or nursing care facility.
- A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act:
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
